POC-700-FT: Ultra-Compact Fanless Embedded Controller with Flat-Top Heatsink Design

The POC-700-FT is an extended model of the ultra-compact embedded controller series POC-700, featuring a flat-top heatsink design optimized for installation inside sealed enclosures. It ensures efficient heat dissipation without external fans and is engineered to deliver stable performance even in confined spaces. With a high-performance, low-power CPU and rich I/O connectivity, it can be flexibly deployed across a wide range of applications such as industrial automation, AI inference, machine vision, and operation in harsh environments.

Processor and Graphics Performance

The POC-700-FT offers two processor options:

1. Intel® Core™ i3-N305 — 8 cores / 8 threads with 15W TDP, integrated with 32EU Intel UHD Graphics. This configuration delivers excellent performance for AI inference and video processing.

2. Intel® Atom® x7425E — 4 cores / 4 threads with a 12W TDP, featuring 24EU Intel UHD Graphics. It’s ideal for low-power edge computing tasks.

Both models are optimized for AI inference using the Intel OpenVINO™ toolkit.

Memory and Storage

The system supports up to 16GB of DDR5-4800 SODIMM memory, utilizing the latest high-speed memory interface. For storage, it features an M.2 2280 M-Key slot supporting NVMe or SATA SSDs, maximizing data processing performance.

I/O Interfaces

A wide range of I/O interfaces are built-in to meet industrial application needs:

• 4 x USB 3.2 Gen2 ports with screw-lock design for secure connections in high-vibration environments

• 4 x Gigabit PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) ports for powering IP cameras and other network devices while transmitting data

• 4 x COM ports (1 x RS-232/422/485, 3 x RS-232)

• 4-channel isolated DI and 4-channel isolated DO for sensor and actuator control

• DisplayPort++ and HDMI 1.4b, supporting dual 4K display output

Expandability and Wireless Communication

The POC-700-FT includes an internal mini-PCIe slot and micro SIM slot for installing WiFi, LTE/5G, or CAN communication modules. Additionally, it supports Neousys’ proprietary MezIO® expansion interface, enabling flexible I/O extension such as RS-232/422/485, USB, digital I/O, and vehicle ignition control.

Mechanical Design and Environmental Tolerance

With dimensions of 175.8 x 115.5 x 51.65 mm, the POC-700-FT offers approximately 20% size reduction compared to its predecessor, maximizing space efficiency. Its lightweight 1.2 kg design allows for easy wall mounting.

The system supports an operating temperature range of -25°C to 60°C, and storage temperature of -40°C to 85°C, meeting MIL-STD-810H standards for vibration and shock resistance. It operates reliably in dusty and humid industrial environments and is CE/FCC Class A EMC certified for electromagnetic compliance.
